Security at Lending Buddy

How we protect your request — and how you can protect yourself online.

Borrower reviewing a secure Lending Buddy request✓ Encrypted (HTTPS/TLS)

When you submit a request through Lending Buddy, you trust us with personal and financial details. Protecting that information is part of the job, not an afterthought.

How Lending Buddy protects your information

  • Encryption in transit. Every page and form on lendingsbuddy.com is served over HTTPS (TLS), so data between your browser and our servers is encrypted.
  • Purpose-limited sharing. We share request details with lenders and partners who may make you an offer and with vendors who help us operate the service, as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • Access controls. Access to systems that store request data is restricted to people and vendors who need it.
  • Fraud prevention. We and our partners use identity-verification and fraud-screening tools to help protect consumers from identity theft.

What we will never ask for

  • An upfront fee, "insurance" payment or deposit to unlock a loan
  • Payment by gift card, wire transfer, cryptocurrency or payment app
  • Your online banking username or password
  • A one-time security code sent to your phone or email
Watch out: Scammers sometimes pretend to be lenders or loan services. If anyone asks for money before you receive a loan, stop and report it at ReportFraud.ftc.gov. Read how to spot loan scams.

How to protect yourself

  1. Check the address bar. Make sure you're on lendingsbuddy.com and see the padlock before typing personal details.
  2. Verify the lender. Confirm state licensing, and for mortgages search NMLS Consumer Access.
  3. Read before you sign. Review the APR, total of payments and lender name on the agreement.
  4. Monitor your credit. Check your free reports at AnnualCreditReport.com and consider a credit freeze if you suspect identity theft.
