Who we are
Every guide on Lending Buddy is produced by a small team with hands-on experience in consumer lending — reading loan agreements, explaining Truth in Lending disclosures, helping borrowers understand credit reports and walking first-time buyers through mortgage paperwork. We write for real people making real decisions, so our standard is simple: would we be comfortable giving this advice to a friend?
Our roles
Senior Lending Editor
Leads coverage of personal, installment, emergency and bad-credit loans. Focuses on loan pricing, APR math and how lenders evaluate applications.
Credit & Consumer Finance Writer
Covers credit scores, credit reports, budgeting, emergency funds and debt repayment strategies, with an emphasis on step-by-step, practical action.
Mortgage Content Editor
Covers FHA, conventional, first-time buyer and refinance topics, including down payments, mortgage insurance, closing costs and Loan Estimates.
Lending Compliance Reviewer
Reviews every page for accuracy against federal consumer-finance rules (TILA, ECOA, FCRA, MLA) and for clear, fair, non-misleading language.
How every guide is reviewed
- Research. Writers start with primary sources — federal regulators such as the CFPB and FTC, HUD for FHA rules, credit-scoring model documentation and lender disclosures.
- Draft with real math. Every dollar example is calculated and labeled as hypothetical when it isn't a published rate.
- Expert edit. A senior editor checks clarity, completeness and whether the advice is practical for the reader's situation.
- Compliance review. Our compliance reviewer checks claims, disclosures and wording — no guaranteed-approval language, no hidden costs.
- Ongoing updates. Pages carry an "Updated" date and are revisited when rules, programs or market conditions change.
Editorial independence
Lending Buddy is compensated by lenders in our network, but lenders do not write, review or approve our educational content. See our full editorial policy and advertiser disclosure.
